DIY Wind Generator
DIY Wind Generator Project

Now, i’m working on my CNC project, an Inexpensive CNC Project. As we know, most of the CNC parts is expensive and hard to find in some countries. With a little creativity and imagination, we can make the cnc with same function but different and cheaper parts. So, here’s what I make.
As you can see at above images, some parts maybe you know and not usually used in making a CNC, but we can used it. These parts is:
1. Stainless Rod

Usually, a Standard A4 Canon Printer have stainless rod with diameter 7mm and 34cm length. This Stainless Rod i get from old and broken inkjet canon printer.
2. Linear motion Bushing
For this parts, i’m found interesting parts that fit and can used with my 7mm stainless rod, that is door Hinge. Yes..a door hinge, remove the center shaft and you’ll get 2 parts you can used for linear motion bushing. Usually, a 10cm length hinge have same shaft size with printer stainless rod, but some hinge have smaller shaft..so before you buy the hinge, please make sure it can fit with your Stainless Rod.
3. Screw Rod
Screw Rod and Nut for axis moving.

This project not yet finish, there you can see the cnc 3 axis almost done. So always check back here
After successfully build the Dexhand ( Dextrous Robotic Hand) , now i am build new dexhand called Dexhand v2. This Dexhand v2 have same construction and system with V1 but of course have little different to improve the Dexhand V2 function, moving and also operating. So, always check back to this post to know the Dexhand V2 progress.

Above photo is Dexhand V.2 where the design similar to Dexhand V.1. In order to improve the mimicking / imitate function to become more close to human Hand, i have change the thumb design and the number of DOF.

Dexhand V.1 have 3 DOF thumb, now Dexhand V.2 thumb increase become 5 DOF. At other fingers, Dexhand V.1 have 2 DOF, at Dexhand V.2 become 3 DOF each fingers ( Index, Middle, Ring, Pinky ).

So, overall, Dexhand V.2 become 17 DOF, where at Dexhand V.1 only have 11 DOF.

The second annual National Robotics Week will be April 9-17, 2011.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the inaugural National Robotics Week in 2010! We celebrated with over 50 affiliated events in 21 states, DC, and Puerto Rico. Over 46,000 people participated, including over 22,000 K-12 students.
